Do you ever wonder why some people do not gain weight at all? Here are 3 reasons why, and how you can somehow "emulate" these reasons in your own weight loss regimen.
1. They naturally have fast metabolism. Metabolism is simply defined as how the body works to use stored energy. People who eat a lot but do not gain weight usually have very fast metabolism. On the other hand, people who do not eat a lot but are fat usually have slow metabolism or hormonal imbalances. Note that hormones also affect a person's metabolism.
How can you emulate fast metabolism?
Eat foods that boost the metabolism! Very simple. Since people who easily gain weight at different rates, it's best for "low metabolism" people to eat food which can increase the speed of metabolism. Example of these are grapefruit, green tea, yogurt, almond, apples, etc. You can find out more foods that boost metabolism on the internet.
2. They are physically active. It's an easy equation! Being physically active means gaining less weight since you'll be spending your calories. Some people do not gain weight at all because they love and enjoy working their bodies. Most of the time, people gain weight due to lifestyle choices. There is no such thing as "being too busy" to do something which is your priority. If you make something your priority, you will eventually MAKE time for it, not just SPARE time for it.
How can you emulate being active physically?
People who are physically active usually enjoy what they are doing. So what you need to do is pick a physical activity that you love to do. Are you into sports? Biking, swimming, running, whatever it is--being physically active is easier when you're enjoying it.
3. They eat small portions. Do you notice how slender people eat? They don't eat fast, and they also don't eat in large portions. Usually, when you observe them, they're the ones with the most leftovers. Not that I'm encouraging you to have leftovers, but you get my point. Slim people usually eat in small amounts.
How can you emulate eating in small portions?
Practice small bites. Savor the food that you're eating. Be aware of the flavors and textures of the food you're eating. Usually, when we wolf down on a meal, we have a tendency to feel unsatisfied because we don't "sense" everything that we eat because of our speed. Everytime you are eating, keep this in mind--"I am eating for pleasure, and not just to stuff myself."
Following these tips will surely help you on your weight loss plan.
