If you have become overweight and wish to reclaim your slim, fit body then the only way to lose weight and get back into shape is by changing the way you think and feel about food and exercise. You may not be aware of it but something has gone slightly 'skew whiff' in your inner mind programming to take you from a naturally slim person to an overweight one.
Unless that is identified and changed you are likely to remain stuck in that overweight, unhealthy and unhappy body for a very long time, maybe for the rest of your life. This is without doubt going to have an impact on your health somewhere down the track - maybe it has already. So, it is important to get off this merry-go-round so you can live your best life.
In order to lose weight permanently you will need to make the necessary changes to your lifestyle and to do this you need to understand YOU on a 'deeper' level. You could be harbouring some 'junk thinking' which is misinformation about nutrition, dieting, exercise, misguided self-beliefs mixed together with some plain old self-delusion that give you reasons why you turn to food sometimes.
This internal dialogue is incorrectly guiding you to make unhealthy choices, and is the reason why you can't stay motivated to lose weight for very long. Those inner obstacles must be found and changed if you are EVER to lose weight for the long-term.
Change Your Mind and Weight Loss Will Begin
After all, everything starts in our mind as an idea, a thought, an image or a dream. The difference between being successful and failing at anything in life is often controlled by these early sparks within our mind. For people who manage to lose weight and more importantly KEEP IT OFF, something just clicks within their mind.
They think and believe 'this time it's for real' and 'I'm done with this overweight body'. They believe and keep on believing that the changes they need to make to their lifestyle particularly in the area of food and exercise are truly worth making.
They create a picture or an image in their mind of their future slim self and play it over and over again. Once their mind has this programming the body follows along. Once the seeds are sown deep in the subconscious mind they grow and intensify and this is how you lose weight permanently.
You change your old faulty mind 'template' for a new one that is more positive, targeted and focused on what you want most - that slim, fit, healthy, feel-good body.
When your mind has this upgrade you will find you automatically make better food choices and enjoy exercise. Things that you have not done before suddenly start to happen without you even thinking about them. The struggle you have been having with yourself just goes away and once you are at this place losing weight is easy and effortless.
Once you have the right strategies and tools in place for your 'mind makeover' pretty much straight away you will start thinking differently. You will feel so motivated to get started on your weight loss journey knowing this time you will be sticking with it. That naturally slim person that you want to be is so close you can feel and taste it. Then all you need to do is get ready to step into that body of your dreams.
The idea that your subconscious mind may be actively blocking your conscious efforts to lose weight can be hard to swallow at first.
