Tips On How To Eliminate Belly Fat

Everyone wants a "flat" stomach, if not great abs. We all want less of the belly fat. The tricky part comes when you don't know who to believe when it comes to eliminating belly fat. There is a lot information about how to lose belly fat. You just need to get the facts about belly fat and from there, you can even design your own 'belly elimination program' - one that suits you.
Belly fat exists in two forms: the one that you can see and the one that you cannot see. The visible one is just beneath the skin and is called subcutaneous fat. This is what gives you the big belly. The other one is known as visceral fat and is found deep within your body, around the organs. You may have less subcutaneous fat but more visceral fat and so appear thin, but are exposed to health risks as well. But how do you control body fat? You can do this in four easy steps: exercise, diet, sleep and stress management.
• Exercise.
Make sure that you get at least 30 minutes of vigorous exercise daily. That can be jogging if you are physically fit or a brisk walk if you are obese, to reduce risk of injury. Do this four times each week and be assured to lose both the subcutaneous and the visceral fat as well. You can also put in just enough physical exercise in your daily activities such as play with the kids, do some gardening or simply walk to work. If you prefer the gym, aerobics will give you better results as compared to resistance exercise.
• Diet.
It is impossible to find a diet that reduces fat alone. Luckily, when losing weight, the belly first is usually the first to go. To reduce the belly fat effectively, take a diet rich in fiber. This helps to build up less fat over time. Limit your intake of highly processed carbohydrates (but treat yourself occasionally). A typical high fiber diet would include a couple of small apples, green peas and half a cup of pinto beans. You can also switch to high fiber bread.
• Stress management.
You may not control the society, but you can control your reaction to the various stresses of life. When you are stressed, the body releases the 'stress hormone', cortisol, which enhances fat storage around the belly. It can even redistribute fat from other parts of the body to the belly area. Get social support, meditate and also exercise to manage your stress.
• Sleep.
To get the best out of your exercise, make sure you sleep for about eight hours. Too much or too little sleep can result in more fat around the belly. When you don't get enough sleep, you will feel sleepy during the day and opt for a quick cup of coffee (or two more) and a doughnut to keep you going. Eventually you will have packed on unwanted calories that translate in form of belly fat. Tampering with your sleep cycle also causes improper functioning of your metabolism.
Engage in these easy steps and have fun as you search for that dream waistline.
